Ibajay Full Gospel Center History
Since 1980
Jesus personally proclaim that he is going to build His church, He said upon this rock, I will build my church. A living Church, powerful, victorious church working and giving church, holyland prepared church. Praise God for we are members of this church. Ibajay Full Gospel Center was a daughter church of Maloco Assembly of God whom Revs. Marcelo and Paz Arangote pioneered year 1956. The church grew and became established. God gave us a vision and burden to extend the work in the town proper of Ibajay. Through Daily Vacation Bible School and extensive visitation, the work opened and the first converts were the Dalisay and Solidum families. Inspite of persecution and opposition, through prayer, the ministry in the town proper patiently pursued, grew and became established.
By the year 1978, Rev. Gunder Olsen and his wife, a missionaries stationed at Iloilo city, were instrumental in providing the church lot. Year 1979, through Rev. Ernest Reb, a missionary of Oriental Missionary crusade, the church building was built.. The church building was donated by Barry Hon in memory of his father Darrel Hon of California, U.S.A. The church building was completed and dedicated 1st Sunday of February 1980.
The church grew more spiritually and numerically through the support of the mother church. There were missionaries also who have extended their ministries that contributed greatly on the stability of church growth. Rev. Herbert Brodehl and his wife Doris, Bro. Rudy Neufeld and his wife, Rev. Dwight Palmquist and other visiting missionaries from U.S.A.
The missionaries Herbert Brodehl and his wife Doris served for almost six (6) years and greatly helped in raising up more workers. The work became fruitful and became instrumental in the establishing of eleven local churches in the towns of Ibajay, Aklan and Pandan, Antique and raised up about four pastors and workers ministering in different areas of ministries.
In the year 1995, the church opened a preparatory school, Ibajay Kiddie Learning Center which name was changed to Ibajay Christian Academy and finally became a Deped recognized school, the Ibajay Christian School, Inc.
Many things transpired in the church as years passed by, the growth and victories as well as arguments and conflicts, the increasing as well decreasing of attendance and finances. But in all of these, the church remained steadfast in God’s plan and purpose together with the committed believers to pursue what God has started. Almost all the churches in the town of Ibajay were the result of IFGC ministries. And even in the midst of ministry and leadership crisis on the year 2008, the church still planted a church at Monlaque, Ibajay. The church continued to grow until the merging of ministry strength with the mother church, Maloco Assembly of God, then I.W.A.G. (Integrated Works for the Advancement of the Gospel) Ministries was organized and much more were accomplished in the kingdom of God.
Through the I.W.A.G. Ministries, the church never stop receiving God’s intended growth and blessings with her vital focused on the Vision 2015: Iwagan Ro Banwa (Light the Town), the establishing of outreach work in every barangay of Ibajay which was unveiled year 2009.
In May 2011, the IFGC launched the IWAG Child Care Ministry Center (PH711) in partnership with Compassion International – Philippines, which is a long term holistic development program of for beneficiary children and youth. It started serving 100 indigent children but it has more than 500 beneficiary children now.
In January 2017, we launched the Vision 2020: Win souls for Christ!
The church is willing to extend where God wants her to be.
To God be the glory!
